Inheritances and legacies
From time to time, generous donors bequeath part of their estate to Emmaus Children's Relief. This makes us extremely happy every time. Inheritances and legacies have often enabled us to overcome emergency situations for people in need.
For the love of life
Bequests and legacies are particularly effective ways of supporting our work. By remembering our aid organization in your will, you give new hope to the hopeless. With a legacy, you save lives beyond your own death.
Will
There are two types of will: the handwritten will and the public (notarized) will. For your handwritten will to be legally valid, it must be written in full by hand, dated and signed by you. The public will is drawn up according to your wishes by a notary and notarized by him.
Use
In the canton of Berne, spouses and descendants as well as charitable organizations such as Emmaus Children's Aid are exempt from inheritance tax. If you bequeath part of your estate to us, you are of course free to specify a particular purpose. However, we would ask you to refrain from using overly restrictive wording. If you leave us the freedom of use, the money can always be used where help is most urgently needed.
