Godchildren write
The letters of thanks addressed by the girls and boys to their godmothers and godfathers are usually honest and direct. In simple and clear words they reveal the hard fate of the children having found the way out of misery thanks to a sponsorship. The letters, often richly illustrated, are heartfelt testimonies of trust and friendship.
«With all my heart!»
Children getting under control their life full of deprevation thanks to a sponsorship and learning a trade remain forever grateful to their godparents.

«Dear godmother, how are you ? I hope you are well. With all my heart I should like to thank you so much for the beautiful bike you gave me. It is grey-black and looks very attractive. This great gift makes me overjoyed. I write you these lines to thank you for all, and in particular for the bike. I have already used it many times, it takes me to school and other desired destinations. The day when I was called and told that I would get a bike, I almost couldn‘t fall asleep for joy! Ciao, Ricardo.»

«Dear godfather, I should like to tell you that I have moved to the seventh grade at school and that thanks to you I can attend school lessons although I am not a good pupil. However, I will do my best to become someone in life. I am living in a home. Four small children also live in the house ‹Turpial›. We take good care oft them. They are so pretty! I live in a home because my father had killed my mother and then himself. So I became an orphan. I forgot to mention that I have a younger sister. So, now I say goodbye. With a warm greeting.»

«Dear godmother, how are you? I should like to share good news with you. Our school has organized a sports day. I won two medals what I owe to your support. You are the role model for me to give my best. You save money to be able to support me. This I will never forget. ‹Friendship is like a bird, if you catch it by force, it will die, if you try to catch it with negligence, it will escape, if you catch it with love, it will always stay with you.› I will always be faithful to you. With love.»

Sam has two siblings. Their father works as an agricultural day labourer. Their mother was a housewife and she died of a snake bite. After graduation from school Sam is trained to become a car mechanic. He writes his godmother as a goodbye: «In the car repair shop where I work we are altogether, including my boss, six people. I work eight hours a day. Because I work hard, my boss made me a foreman. I am fond of my job and would like one day to open my own car repair shop. I am so happy for your support. Your grateful and ever loving Sam.»

«Dear godparents, after finishing primary school I graduated from commercial school and started an apprenticeship as an assistant nurse. My diploma was followed by a course in hospital administration which I completed with a corresponding certificate of competence. Finally I got hired as a nurse with an institution called Idipron where I am still working. Then you visited me in Bogota, dear godparents, and this made me happy. I am so grateful to you and I am also proud of what I have achieved. As a single mother I have a couple of beautiful twins. Their name is Javier and Sofia. Cordially, Magnolia.»

«When I was 13 years old my mother became a widow and I and my brother orphans. I graduated from school and entered the college. As my mother needed support I had to stop my education. With a loan from a bank my brother and I started a small hotel. After a few years I opened my own hotel which I have since converted into a restaurant. Its name is Kokam Kitchen. Later I got married with Sobha who bore me two sons. We are a happy family. I thank you of all my heart!»
