One world for everyone
Needy children and families live in villages or urban slums. They are part of a larger community. To help the individual, the infrastructure of village, district, city and region must also be promoted. Children’s Care Emmaus supports these communities with concrete projects.
Optimistically into future
Many people in developing countries are analphabets, live in slums and have poor sanitary facilities or even none. The nutrition is poor and one-sided, the information about hygiene and family planning is inadequate. The adults rarely have the chance to persue a regular job, and the children have to do without school lessons because they have to beg or to lend a hand in the fields. This hopeless situation entails problems such as alcoholism, prostitution and crime. We fight the distress of these people on an individual and communal level. Our community aid includes projects for the general public:
Construction of bore-wells, sewerage, school buildings and homes
Construction of roads
Financing of small workshops and industries (production of clothes, soaps, cleaning agents, jams, juices, etc.)
Setting up community centers
Installation of public toilets
Education and training programs
Support of women's groups
Health education (clean environment, varied diet, personal hygiene, disease prevention and prophylaxis, etc.)
Mother and child care (advice and care)
Vaccination, vitamin and nutrition programs
Medical control and emergency assistance
